Today’s Dietitian published an article, “Seafood Innovations: How a Pandemic Pivot and Consumer Curiosity Created the Perfect Seafood Storm” about the innovation and drive of the seafood industry, and how we came together to help Americans during the pandemic through the Eat Seafood America! campaign.
SNP’s RDN and Nutrition Communications Manager was quoted stating that only “about 20% of the population is eating seafood at least twice a week” which is the recommended consumption according to the FDA. She also mentioned that the main reason people weren’t eating seafood was because they weren’t confident in the preparation! Since COVID-19 started consumption has risen and more Americans are deciding to eat seafood at home.
