Henry Demone is Chairman of High Liner Foods where he has charted the company through more than two decades of rapid change, transforming High Liner Foods from a struggling fishing company to its position today as the leading branded value-added seafood supplier in North America.
Henry was born in High Liner Foods' home town, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. He began his career in 1977 with National Sea Products working in International Sales. He was appointed President and COO in 1989 and President and CEO in 1992. In 2013 Henry stepped back from day-to-day operations to focus on strategy, growth and succession planning as Chief Executive Officer.
Henry graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science (Honors in Mathematics) and spent a year at Dalhousie University in the Master of Science program. He has held many leadership positions in the seafood industry at different times in his career including: Chair of the National Fisheries Institute, Chair of the Groundfish Forum and Chair of Fisheries Council of Canada. He is currently a Director of Saputo, Inc., serves on the Blue Ribbon Panel of the Global Partnership for the Oceans as well as the Executive Committee of the Groundfish Forum. He is a member of the World Presidents’ Organization.
