The best way to sum it up is that, over the past month, my perception has dramatically shifted. I’ve stopped looking at the six-month OKSeafood Slimdown as a challenge and began looking at the Slimdown timeframe as training wheels for how I’m going to live the rest of my life.
The best way I can share with you is this: I’m no longer counting down the days to the end of September so that I can go back to my “normal life.” I’m not chasing a number on the weight scale. I’m not trying to achieve some workout goal or fitness level. I’m not trying to check off some major accomplishment to add to the list of things I’ve done.
I’ve started counting down the days to the BEGINNING of October so that I can apply everything I’ve learned to my “new normal.” HUGE thank you to the folks at Seafood Nutrition Partnership and both the national and local levels here in OK"Sea". Shout out to Trident Seafoods for hooking me up with crazy delicious pollock burgers, to Miss Carla Meneses from Que Gusto for ridiculously good seafood empanadas, and to Wiley's Finest for fish oil supplements. I really can say that seafood saved my life.
